The American Museum of Ceramic Art was founded in 2003 in California. The mission of the museum is to champion the art, history, creation, and technology of ceramics through exhibitions, collections, outreach, and studio programming.

Founded in 2001, AMOCA is the largest ceramics museum on the west coast and one of the few museums in the United States devoted exclusively to the ceramic arts.Our campus is located in an area of Southern California that has an exceptionally rich and vibrant ceramics tradition. Paul Soldner, Betty Davenport Ford, and Harrison McIntosh are among the prominent ceramists who have lived and worked in the Pomona Valley. Our 51,000 square foot facility includes over 14,000 square feet of exhibition space for our permanent collection and rotating exhibitions. The facility also includes a 12,000 square foot ceramics studio for classes, workshops and an artists-in-residence program. The museum has an active educational program for individuals of all ages and bi-lingual staff members who provide Spanish language tours. AMOCA includes: a permanent collection comprised of over 7,000 objects; the Helen and Roger Porter Ceramics Research Library comprised of more than 4,200 publications; a photography studio; and the AMOCA Store.
