Big Ice Trekking Tour
Experience an unforgettable glacier trek, where you'll hike through stunning landscapes, and enjoy breathtaking views!
This unforgettable experience begins at the Bajo de las Sombras port within Los Glaciares National Park, where you'll board a boat to cross the Brazo Rico to the west coast.
Upon arrival, guides provide an overview of the activity and divide the group into smaller teams. Visitors can store personal belongings in the shelter and use the facilities before embarking on a 2-hour hike through the enchanting Patagonian-Magellanic Andean forest. The trail leads to the southern moraine of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where you can enjoy your lunch.
After lunch, you'll step onto the glacier itself, experiencing its stunning blue lagoons, deep crevasses, and magical caves close up. Throughout the approximately 3.5-hour trek, guides share insights into the glaciers' origins and the surrounding environment.
After returning, you retrace your steps through the forest before taking the boat back, sailing near the glacier's southern wall for a spectacular view. The day concludes with a return to El Calafate, having experienced one of the world's most remarkable ice treks.
Note: Anyone under 18 or over 50 years of age will not be able to participate in the activity due to a demanding walk on an uneven but firm surface.
