About Seamanship Educational Program and Sail :

Enjoy a challenging course in sailing and navigating a ship! Build teamwork, boost self-confidence, and face your fears with the support of fellow crew members. During this educational sail, you'll learn to lower and stowe sails, climb halfway up the 100′ rig, handle lines, belay pins and pulleys, and properly line coiling.
The first two hours will be dockside programming and the final two hours will be sailing on the bay. This lovely program with a San Francisco Bay sail allows you to utilize newly learned skills.

Know Before You Go
  • The ships are docked at the US Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Visitor Center in Sausalito, CA. Access to the ship and parking lot is via Marinship Way
  • Free parking is available in the Bay Model Visitor Center Western/back lot. Based on recent trends, parking may be limited in the Bay Model parking lot due to Sea Trek Kayaking and the Bay Model being very busy in the mornings and early afternoons. Spillover parking is available on Bridgeway (non metered all day spots) and on weekends in front of #10 Libertyship Way in the yellow zones
  • Please wait at the gate to the pier in front of the Bay Model. There will be an escort to walk you past the gate, down the pier to the ship
  • Use shore facilities at the Bay Model as a priority prior to sailing. Call of the Sea's ships have a public restroom on board, available for use one at a time
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to ensure you stay hydrated. Bag lunch
  • Dress in layers: a windbreaker, warm base layer, comfortable pants, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfortable closed toe shoes. No high heels are permitted. Clothing may get dirty while sailing
  • Cancellation due to inclement weather is uncommon, but it sometimes happens. You will be notified within at least 24 hours of the scheduled sail and can choose to reschedule or request a refund
