USHUAIA | Escondido and Fagnano Lakes
A purely contemplative excursion, the aim is to enjoy the tranquility transmitted by the Fuegian landscape and its southern mountain range.
This contemplative excursion will allow you to enjoy the tranquility of the Tierra del Fuego landscape and its majestic southern mountain range. Depart by bus from Ushuaia, touring the two beautiful lakes surrounded by forests and glacial valleys. Your first stop will be in the Carbajal Valley, ideal for interpreting the landscape and taking photos. Then, visit the Harwen winter resort, home of the snow sculpture festival, where you'll also learn about the southernmost artisanal Gin distillery in the world and its production process, with a tasting option.
Next to the distillery, explore a small museum about national motorcycles and the exploits of pioneers on long trips. Continue to Paso Garibaldi, the only mountain crossing in Argentina without crossing borders, from where you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Escondido. Later, you'll reach Lake Fagnano, one of the largest in Argentina, and visit the historic Estancia La Carmen, where you go for a moderate walk with views of the lake. On the way back to Ushuaia, stop at a winter resort to enjoy a typical lunch (Fuegian Lamb on a spit, not included) and a well-deserved rest, before resuming the last 20 km towards the city.
