Whether you’re religious or not, you are going to want to visit this iconic Bolivian site. A massive statue of Jesus located atop San Pedro Hill, this monument is accessible via cable car, or if you’re up for it, a 2000-step climb.
There are several lakes around this region, however this tends to be one of the more popular ones. This is a manmade lagoon that offers a very resort kind of vibe. People come to fish, sail, swim, camp and dine in the fine restaurants surrounding the lake.
Considered one of the safest cities in the country, it is not uncommon to find groups of people strolling through the Plaza Principal (the city center) or down the Avenida Ballivian which features some of the area’s best hotels and restaurants.
Cochabamba experiences winter from June to August. During this season, the city's temperatures are relatively mild, with daytime highs in the 60s to low 70s Fahrenheit and cooler nights. Summer is a vibrant time in the city, with various cultural events and festivals taking place. Visitors can enjoy the Feria de Alasitas, a traditional fair where locals buy miniature items to symbolize their desires for the upcoming year. Additionally, the Carnival season brings lively celebrations with water fights and colorful parades.
Fall in Cochabamba, from March to May, brings mild temperatures and beautiful autumn colors. The surrounding landscapes, including the nearby Cochabamba Valley, display stunning hues, creating a picturesque backdrop for outdoor activities. Fall is an excellent time for exploring the region's wineries and vineyards, known for producing Bolivia's traditional wine.
