Charlestown

Charlestown in the largest city in Nevis, the sister city to the island Saint Kitts. Not unlike other island cities in the Caribbean, Charlestown is rich in colonial history. In fact, the Nevis Historical and Conversation Society has built a heritage trail that leads to the various historical relics such as sugar plantations, museums, military bases, churches, and more. Charlestown is probably best known for being the birthplace and childhood home of Alexander Hamilton. The house of his birth has been restored and is now the Museum of Nevis History. Visitors of Nevis appreciate this island for being off-the-beaten-path and less crowded than other Caribbean islands without sacrificing the beauty, fun, and adventure. This island is also noted for their soft sandy beaches and stunning vistas. Anywhere on the island, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the volcano Nevis Peak.

What an amazing tour. We saw whales, dolphins and porpoises. The crew was very friendly and enthusiastic. We could really tell they are very respectful towards the animals, we were able to see two humpbacks for nearly half an hour, everybody was silent, the engine was off and the crew was also in awe. Only when the whales left, the engine was back on and we also started moving again. We really felt like we had all the time in the world and we didn't disturb the animals.
