About Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Serengeti National Park is just about the epitome of "African safari" that children grow up learning all about. It is the largest national park in East Africa and, when there, you feel the expansiveness. You have the opportunity to see the "big five" game here as well as the Great Migration which peaks in the first quarter of the year.

  • Great Migration

With over two million wildebeest and zebra following the rains for their primary food source, grass, and their predators following

  • Immersion

Smaller national parks in Africa certainly offer the desired animal sightings but those moments can lose appeal when there are lots of other vehicles sharing the same view as these amazing animals, or when you can see buildings in the distance. The Serengeti is so expansive you will feel as though you can chase the horizon for days without seeing a building or slew of vehicles.

  • Hot Air Ballooning

If you have to wake up at 5:30AM it better be for a good reason; how about a hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti looking down on elephants, giraffes, maybe even lions wandering the savanna? Such an experience will be a memory for a lifetime and you can do it in Tanzania!

  • Winter is the dry season in the Serengeti, which is June - September. This is the ideal time for spotting wildlife but it's also the busiest time, so prices can be quite high.

  • Summer is the wet season and occurs November - May. There are benefits to traveling during this time such as fewer people, lower prices, and opportunity to see the Great Migration.
