Shem Creek Kayak Tour
A great learning experience of the area history and wildlife, this guided kayak paddle is on the calm harbor in Shem Creek.
Your paddle begins in a saltwater marsh area in historic Shem Creek among shrimp boats and restaurants that line the creek. You will then journey out to a Bird Sanctuary called Crab Bank Island across a shallow bay, which is home to thousands of nesting shorebirds including the state-threatened species Wilsons Plover and Eastern Brown Pelicans. Frequented by dolphins and sometimes manatees, this is a nice wildlife paddle. Your tour also includes incredible views in the distance of the historic Charleston Harbor, Castle Pinckney, and Ft. Sumter.
This tour is for two single kayakers.
