Barichara Gastronomic Tour
Your local guide will take you to several typical restaurants in Santander, Colombia, where you'll sample dishes unique to the region.
Start with Arepa Santandereana, a peeled corn arepa cooked over charcoal with Chicharrón (pork belly). It's rich in flavor but not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
Next, you'll enjoy Chorizo sausages followed by "Carne Oriada," a sun-dried red meat with a jerky-like texture, and marinated, oven-cooked goat.
For dessert, savor Bocadillo (a sweet made from guava) with goat cheese, and traditional Arequipe Gloria (caramel) cooked in a wooden oven. Finally, no Santander food tour is complete without tasting the world-famous Hormigas Culonas—large, crunchy ants that are a true regional delicacy.
