Experience the highlights of the Scottish Highlands on a full-day Loch Ness tour from Inverness, combining history, whisky, and legendary landscapes. Begin at the iconic Loch Ness with a scenic cruise to the dramatic ruins of 13th-century Urquhart Castle, perfect for spotting the elusive monster. Stop in the charming village of Beauly for lunch and a stroll past Beauly Priory, a site featured in the Outlander novels.

The tour continues with a visit to a Highland whisky distillery, where the distillation process is explained and a tasting of the famous ‘water of life’ is offered. Learn about Scotland’s turbulent past at Culloden Battlefield and explore the mysterious burial chambers and standing stones at Clava Cairns, steeped in history and legend. This immersive day blends culture, folklore, and breathtaking Highland scenery before returning to Inverness in the early evening.

  • Please arrive for check-in 30 minutes before departure; with an 8:15 am departure, check-in will be at 7:45 am.
  • All attractions are subject to availability, and third-party suppliers have the right to close attractions or suspend operations at any time.
  • Students must hold a valid ISIC, ISE, or ITIC card, and travel insurance is recommended.
  • The Loch Ness Cruise and Urquhart Castle are not suitable for individuals with mobility difficulty because of the steps to the dock and the steps to Urquhart ruins.
  • Please be advised that children under 5 years old may not take part in the tour, while anyone under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Please note that it cannot be guaranteed that people who have booked together will be seated together, as seats are not allocated.
  • It is very important to return to the coach on time at itinerary stops. Your guide will display the time that the bus departs on a clock that will be visible. Our coach cannot wait for you.
  • There are no maximum age restrictions
  • Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark.

  • It is not possible to hold the bus or provide a refund for any late arrivals. Return times are approximate and subject to road conditions and weather. Please ensure sufficient time is allocated for any onward travel plans, allowing at least 3 hours after the scheduled return time for connections or activities.
  • Highland Whisky Experience: Discover at your leisure how "uisge beatha" (the "water of life") is made and learn the history behind one of Scotland's most iconic exports. Local whisky experts are on hand to share in-depth knowledge and suggest rare drams to sample. Whisky dram flights from £12 and whisky cocktails from £8.
  • Culloden Visitor Centre: On 16th April 1746, Culloden was the site of the last pitched battle fought on the British mainland. Through an interpretive exhibition and a visit to the battlefield itself, visitors can learn why this hour-long conflict changed Highland life and world history forever. With ongoing archaeological research and fresh historical interpretations, the story is far from over… More recently, the popular TV series Outlander has used the years prior to the Battle of Culloden as a backdrop. Entrance approx. £12.
  • Midhope Castle will be closed for filming in 2026 on the following days: May 29th through 31st, June 6th and 7th, August 14th through 17th, and September 11th through 13th.
