The Darwin Experience

Experience a historic kayaking adventure tracing Charles Darwin's route through Patagonia's stunning landscapes!

Details

Embark on a unique kayaking adventure that traces the historic route of Charles Darwin, who navigated this river in the mid-19th century. Your journey begins with a pick-up in 4x4 trucks from your hotel in El Calafate, taking you 25 miles to Paraje Charles Furh.

Upon arrival, you'll unload the kayaks and participate in warm-up exercises while guides explain the kayaking process. Once ready, you'll paddle for 80 minutes down the Santa Cruz River, covering 9 miles and taking in the stunning yet little-explored Patagonian steppe.

After enjoying a delicious lunch, you'll return to El Calafate in 4x4 trucks, traveling along a gravel road through the heart of the steppe before joining the iconic Route 40.
