Start in air-conditioned comfort until your arrival at the ranger outpost. Here, your guides will provide you with a helmet, headlamp, and life jacket. You'll hike, wade, and swim the sacrificial Mayan underworld of the ATM cave.There will be 3 river crossings and a 30-minute hike bringing you to the cave entrance.
From here, the cave system spans approximately 3 miles. After an hour of spelunking, you'll arrive at the ceremonial area where you'll remove your shoes. Walking barefoot, deeper into the underground, you will unearth untainted Mayan history dating back 1-1000 AD including pottery and skeletal remains.
Lunch and water will be provided.
