Altun Ha Mayan Ruins in Belize are a stunning example of Mayan architectural accomplishments more than 2000 years ago. In 900 BCE, Altun Ha was one of the most celebrated Mayan centers. It was undoubtedly one of the smallest Mayan Centers in Belize, but it was extremely important to the Mayan Civilization at the time. Belize's Mayan temples, once hidden in thick jungle, have been restored to their original splendor.
However, it is impossible to escape the ever-present Mayan Spirit when visiting these spectacular sites. There are no steep hills or sudden drops. The grass and paths are beautifully manicured. After trekking an ancient home of the Maya, you'll head west for 90 minutes on the Western Highway, for Ziplining. The Zipline tour gives you a bird's eye view of Belize's jungle while soaring through the treetops at high speed.
It's a short walk over to the equipment area where your expert guides will help outfit you with the required equipment. You'll then make your way over to the first platform, where an important safety briefing will follow, which covers braking technique, balancing, and cable safety.
READY! SET! GO! Push off from the wooden platform and zip along the aerial cable at canopy level where a guide will be waiting for you at the next platform. A couple of platforms into your Indiana Jones adventure, you'll see the "hammock bridge" hanging almost 120 feet above the forest floor.

Take in the tangled heart of Belize's spellbinding and lush primeval forest, as the wide glade of trees falls away to reveal an infinite blue sky.
