Bark River Self-Guided Kayak Tour
Paddle the shoreline of Lower Nemahbin Lake, entering the bark river through an opening in the cattails. When you arrive at the Sawyer Road Bridge, you can choose to portage across the road or stay in your boat and paddle over the dam.
Paddle for another 2 miles passing Crooked Lake to the Genesee Lake Road Bridge where your journey ends. Enjoy clear gentle flowing water with sand or rocky bottoms. Some of the wildlife seen during this tour includes herons, cranes, ducks, geese, songbirds, swallows, redwing blackbirds. turtles, frogs, fish, muskrat, deer, fox, and beavers.
Please note, this is not a guided tour; beginners should paddle with an experienced paddler.
