Bikes, Glacier Views, and Microbrews Tour
An unforgettable guided exploration of the Mendenhall Glacier Valley via bicycle.
The tour begins with a shuttle Ride and Educational Talk! Your guide will coordinate a meeting location for the tour. From here you'll enjoy a scenic 15 minute drive to the Mendenhall Glacier; learning facts about Juneau's culture, history, and wildlife along the way. Round trip transportation, helmets, bicycles, snacks and water are included! You'll start at the Mendenhall Glacier where you will be given 45 minutes to explore the Visitor Center, Steep Creek Trail (boardwalk system), and the surrounding area on your own. While away, your guide will prepare the bikes, helmets, and rain gear.
After taking in the Glacier Views and capturing some memories, you'll reconvene with your guide for the biking portion of the tour! Pedal alongside old growth forests filled with Sitka Spruce, Devil's Club, and berries as you ride 8 miles through the Mendenhall Valley weaving in and out of the National Forest. Take a quick break on the western shore of Mendenhall Lake where your guide will share their knowledge on the Tongass National Forest, the Juneau Icefield, wildlife, and anything else you'd like to know!
After completing the ride, your guide will accompany you to the premiere Microbrewery in Juneau, Forbidden Peaks Brewery. Sample a curated flight of beers brewed in-house and soak in the stunning harbor views after a job well done!
