Castles, West Highlands, and Loch Lomond with Castle Entry Experience

Full-day Scottish Highlands tour from Edinburgh. Visit Doune Castle, Loch Lomond, Inveraray, Kilchurn Castle, and Luss village.

Details

Head northwest from Edinburgh for a full-day journey through some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes, from rugged mountains and serene lochs to historic castles and charming villages. Travel through Stirlingshire, home of the legendary William Wallace, with an optional stop at Doune Castle, a filming location for Outlander, Game of Thrones, and Monty Python. During April and May, Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, serves as a scenic alternative.

Continue through Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, enjoying views of the West Highlands, Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe, and Campbell country. Stop for lunch in Inveraray, where you can explore the historic Inveraray Jail, then pass the breathtaking Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint before visiting the conservation village of Luss on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. The tour returns to Edinburgh in the evening, offering a complete day of history, stunning scenery, and Highland charm.
