Negro River Expedition
our day begins at 8:30 AM as you leave your hotel for the port, where you’ll board a double-decker boat and navigate downstream along the Negro River toward the Meeting of the Waters. Along the way, your guide will share insights about the native people, the land, and the region. At the Meeting of the Waters, you’ll learn about this amazing natural phenomenon, with a chance to spot grey and pink river dolphins.
You’ll then continue to Januari Ecological Park, where you’ll disembark for a 20-minute forest walk to see enormous trees (only during the dry season). Next, you’ll board a motorized canoe to explore narrow creeks of the Solimões River, look for birds and animals, see the famous Vitória Régia water lilies, and visit caboclo homes. Enjoy lunch at a floating restaurant, followed by a visit to a native floating handicraft shop for souvenirs. Return to Manaus, arriving at the port at 1:00 PM.
Duration: 4 hours and 30 minutes
