A hike during the night has its own charms because the rainforest turns active. This tour shows the country’s nocturnal wonders. Starting from the small town of La Tigra, located just 30 minutes from La Fortuna, couples will go through a patch of rainforest in the process of regeneration. Mirroring lakes allow one to observe the wildlife. Be prepared to immerse yourself in the noisy rainforest and see species like nocturnal birds and mammals, insects, amphibians, or bats.

The trail will go around the lakes to the frog sanctuary, an oasis where couples can watch these creatures in the wild and at night when they are most active. Here, couples will discover various species such as the dart frog and the bull frog, the smallest and largest species in Costa Rica, as well as the spectacular Red Eyed Tree Frog, and the beautiful Glass Frog. When the tour is over, couples will be just in time for a delicious Costa Rican dinner prepared on a wood-burning stove. What can be more delightful than enjoying dinner with the lights of San Carlos Valley looming in front of you? After dinner, couples will get back to La Fortuna.
