Day Tour of Newgrange and the Boyne Valley from Dublin
The tour will bring you from the center of Dublin towards the Boyne Valley, just 40 minutes north of Dublin.
You'll begin your tour at the Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street at 09:00 a.m., so be sure to arrive about ten minutes early. From there, you'll travel to the world-famous passage tombs of Newgrange and Knowth—where you'll enter one of Europe's most remarkable prehistoric sites, admire intricate megalithic art, and learn about Newgrange's Winter Solstice alignment. Your visit to Brú na Bóinne, including both tombs, will take approximately 3.5 hours, with a lunch break at the visitor centre.
After lunch, you'll continue to Monasterboice, a 5th-century monastic settlement founded by St. Buithe. Here, you'll explore ancient church ruins, a well-preserved 10th-century round tower, and Ireland's most celebrated Celtic High Crosses—including the 5.5-metre Muiredach's High Cross, famed for its detailed biblical carvings and considered one of the finest in the country.
