Add a delicious picnic lunch in an amazingly serene mountain park setting, plus free large hand-made sodas from an authentic 1901 soda fountain, and you've got more fun in a single day than most folks find in a whole week.

From late April to the first week in January, there are daily excursions to the “Silver Queen of the Rockies,” Georgetown, CO. This railroad traces its heritage all the way back to the booming silver rush days of the 1880’s, when tons of rich minerals were freighted down the tracks through Clear Creek Canyon to the smelters of Denver.

You'll enjoy a train ride to an operational silver mine for a tour, back on the train to Georgetown, where you'll have a picnic lunch in Georgetown Park. Followed by a walking tour of Georgetown.

As a bonus, right after the delicious lunch, you'll be driven in a luxury van up, up, up to the top of Guanella Pass to a 14,000-foot mountain named Mt. Bierstadt. The scenic beauty and abundant wildlife of this high alpine journey will suggest that you have truly found heaven on earth!
