Details

Experience Embera's Indian Village Tour where couples will encounter proud people, a culture fighting to continue with their traditions in this modern world. The Emberas open their homes to teach guests how they have been living since hundreds of years ago. They will receive couples with music, offer them their traditional food, and will show their customs and dances. They live along the Chagres river.

The tour starts on the port of Corotu where couples will embark on dugout canoes to travel up the Chagres river in an exploration. There couples will see waterfalls, exotic vegetation, and a myriad of aquatic birds. The first stop on the tour is to trek through a system of creeks, streams, and river rocks on the way to a magnificent waterfall and natural pool where couples can swim.

After the trekking, couples will be taken to the Embera Village community where they will have lunch while an artisan from the village shows them how the famous Embera baskets and sculptures are made. After lunch, couples will see and hear the Embera perform two dances. Before returning to the Corotu embarkation point, couples will have a chance to browse through the craft exhibit and purchase souvenirs if they wish.
