Franz Josef to Queenstown Tour via Wanaka (One Way)
The tour begins in the picturesque village of Franz Josef, heading south along the coast towards Queenstown. The first stop is Lake Matheson, where on calm days, Mt Cook's reflection creates a photographer's paradise. This 4.4km, 90-minute easy walk offers stunning views of the Southern Alps.
Continuing north, Bruce Bay showcases the West Coast's beauty, where native rainforest meets the open ocean. At Ship Creek, feel the Tasman Sea's waves and explore the dunes on a short walk. A 5-minute walk to Thunder Creek Falls in Mt Aspiring National Park reveals a spectacular 28-meter waterfall, a glacier remnant. The Blue Pools, with their breathtaking blue waters, are a must-see on an easy 3km round trip.
