Montana Grizzly Encounter General Admission
Experience grizzly bears up close at a rescue sanctuary. Watch them in their natural habitat and learn from staff.
Welcome to Montana Grizzly Encounter; a Grizzly Bear Rescue and Education Sanctuary in Bozeman, Montana. Founded in 2004, MGE provides a spacious and natural home for rescued grizzlies. At the same time, it offers the public a place to come and learn about grizzly bears as they watch the majestic animals “up close” in a beautiful mountain setting. All proceeds go to the care of the Grizzly Bears and the educational mission.
Visitors begin at the ticket booth, proceed through the parking lot, and enter via Grizzly Gifts. On the way, you'll pass by the Nigerian Dwarf Goats, which can be petted or fed tall grass. Inside the gift shop, guests receive a welcome and directions to the bear viewing area, where one of three rescue bears may be observed. Bears rotate habitats daily based on their preferences, with access to indoor dens featuring climate control, running water, toys, and enrichment. A staff member is present to share information on bear safety, natural behavior, and the rescue mission, with Keeper Talks offered hourly. Gift shop proceeds directly support the bears’ care.
