Lava viewing is subject to weather conditions and the activity of Kīlauea volcano. Since Kīlauea began erupting again on December 23, 2024, there have been lava fountaining events, sometimes reaching heights of over 1,000 feet every 1-2 weeks. While lava sightings cannot be guaranteed, your guides will do their best to position the group at optimal viewing points during the hike.
