You’ll be collected from your accommodation in Bogotá early in the morning and will be taken on a relaxing drive for just over an hour to the town of Fusagasugá, and onto the Hacienda Coloma for an in-depth tour and explanation of everything to do with coffee. You’ll come to understand how and when the seeds are planted. You’ll learn when the beans are ready to be harvested and why they are all handpicked. 

You’ll discover the entire process of de-pulping, washing, drying, and sorting into the different categories for local consumption, instant coffee, and the export quality; and finally, you’ll understand the importance of the roasting of the beans and how a different flavor can be achieved with just little changes in the process.

After you have filled your mind with the coffee knowledge that has been passed down for generations, you’ll start on the scenic journey back to Bogotá, making one stop on the way for a fabulous Colombian lunch.
