Details

Discover the ancient art of Japanese paper-making on the Washi Paper Craft Experience in Asakusa, a hands-on workshop where participants create beautiful, authentic washi postcards and artwork. Learn traditional techniques passed down for over 1,000 years, used historically to restore valuable cultural artifacts for their durability and delicate texture.

This 45–60 minute session allows guests to craft four washi postcards using colorful Rakusui paper, a special style featuring unique surface textures created with water. Participants can personalize their creations from over 100 decorative paper variations, combining vibrant colors and patterns for a one-of-a-kind keepsake. The workshop also offers insight into Japan’s rich paper-making heritage, making it both a creative and cultural experience.
