Yoho National Park is named after a Cree word for awe, Yoho sits on the western slopes of the Rockies. Emerald Lake is Yoho’s largest lake; its vibrant color comes from powdered limestone. You will spend around twenty minutes here. Drive on the Spiral Tunnel, the Ingenious railway engineering that reduced the gradient for safer travel. Spend fifteen minutes at Natural Bridge, a stunning rock formation shaped by rushing water. End with Moraine Lake and Valley of the Ten Peaks with a one-hour stop. This area is famous for its breathtaking turquoise waters and dramatic mountain backdrop. The lake is open from late May through early October. Otherwise, you will visit Vermilion Lake instead.
