Mt Cook and Hooker Valley Hike from Queenstown

This guided, shared day trip combines all of the key highlights in the Mt Cook area with the famous Hooker Valley Hike.
The tour begins in Queenstown, traveling through Kawarau Gorge with views of the Kawarau Suspension Bridge and Roaring Meg Lookout. Entering Cromwell, the tour crosses Lake Dunstan towards Lindis Pass, stopping for photos at the lookout. In the Mackenzie district, it passes Merino sheep and stops in Omarama for a break or the famous creamy chicken pie.
Entering Aoraki National Park, Lake Pukaki appears with stunning views of Aoraki/Mt Cook and the Southern Alps. The tour explores the national park and heads to the Hooker Valley Track for a self-guided, three-hour hike with views of Hooker Lake, Hooker Glacier, and Mt Cook, plus icebergs and swing bridges.
Returning to Mt Cook Village, more photos of Aoraki/Mt Cook can be taken. On the way back to Queenstown, the tour stops at High Country Salmon Farm to feed fish and taste fresh salmon, and Jackson's Orchard for local fruit or real fruit ice cream. The tour concludes back in Queenstown.
