Paddle through a Polynesian postcard setting on a 2.5-mile tour of Hilo Bay's calm waters. You'll glide past Coconut Island, once a refuge for ancient warriors and believed to have healing powers if you swim around it three times. Take in views of historic Hilo Town, learning about its sugar plantation past and fishing fleet before tsunamis reshaped the area.
Keep an eye out for sea turtles in the lagoon as you pass under the Singing Bridge, where you might even swing from banyan trees before heading toward the waterfalls on the Wailuku River. Listen for the unique "singing" sounds made by cars crossing the nearby steel bridge as you soak in the beauty around you.
