Stirling, Loch Lomond, and Outlander Experience

Full-day Loch Lomond tour from Glasgow visiting castles, the Kelpies, and scenic loch views with local storytelling.

Details

Explore some of central Scotland’s most iconic landscapes and castles on this full-day Loch Lomond tour from Glasgow. With a local guide bringing history, folklore, and film locations to life, the tour combines stunning scenery with rich storytelling and cinematic charm.

Depart Glasgow and begin with a visit to the striking Kelpies, towering horse sculptures celebrating Scotland’s working horses and engineering heritage. Next, journey to Midhope Castle, known to Outlander fans as Lallybroch, Jamie Fraser’s family home. While the castle is viewed from the gates, the atmospheric estate offers perfect photo opportunities and a sense of stepping into the series. The itinerary also includes Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most historically significant landmarks, where you can explore grand halls, enjoy sweeping views, and uncover stories of Scotland’s royal past.

In the afternoon, unwind in Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond. Take a gentle walk along the loch, breathe in the fresh air, or choose an optional cruise for a peaceful finale before returning to Glasgow. The tour is adaptable when castles are closed, ensuring a seamless experience with alternative historic attractions included.
