Prepare to walk among the remnants of the ancient Roman city, which was dramatically submerged by incandescent lava and volcanic ash after the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Astoundingly, much of the streets, luxurious domus (villas), and even everyday objects and food items were unearthed, providing a preserved "snapshot" of life nearly two millennia ago.

In just 30 minutes, you will be transported from the modern vibrancy of Naples to the silent history of Pompeii. Explore the foundations of Pompeii, including the Thermal Baths, Basilica, and the famous Lupanare with its vivid frescoes. Visit the Macellum, the central market, and wander the shops along the commercial streets.

Before exploring the ruins on this tour, the group visits a Cameo Factory, which provides a useful stop for restrooms and some free time. Cameos are artisanal items that have been crafted since Roman times. The duration inside the ruins is approximately 2 hours.
