Vitosha offers excellent conditions for winter treks. You'll be taken to the Vitosha Nature Park for an unforgettable snowshoe experience. Vitosha is the first National Park in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula. It was declared a national park on October 27, 1934. In 2000 the park was categorized as a Nature park. Nowadays its territory is 27,079 hectares. Two nature reserves are situated on its territory, "Bistrishko Branishte" (Bistritsa Forest Reserve) and "Torfeno Branishte" (Turf Forest Reserve), as well as one natural landmark (the Duhlata Cave).
If the weather conditions do not allow snowshoeing you are going to be upgraded for free to hiking the Vitosha mountains with the Black Peak.
