Details

The Park Güell has more than 100 years of history and is one of the most representative works of the artist Antonio Gaudí, famous for embellishing with his architectural pieces the beautiful city of Barcelona.

The main architectural feature of the park is based on art nouveau, although the main idea was the construction of a luxury residential complex, over the years this idea was abandoned, and in its place, a park worthy of the setting of a fairy tale was built. The park was opened in 1922 and has since become one of the city’s main tourist attractions. In 1984, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

You can sit on one of its colorful, mosaic-tiled benches and admire the gingerbread-like buildings below. Snap a photo of the cross-adorned tower that provides a beautiful backdrop to the ornate architecture. Be sure to visit the park’s most photographed spot: the mosaic dragon, known as Trencadis. Leave the tour behind with a new appreciation for art nouveau and Catalan-style architecture and art!

Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
