Private Tour to Sorolla Museum
Please note: The Sorolla Museum is currently CLOSED for renovations. It is scheduled to re-open in early 2026
During this tour with a private guide, you will visit the workshop and the last house of the painter Joaquín Sorolla, along with his temporary exhibitions. The Sorolla Museum used to be his home and, in addition to becoming a charming palace, architecturally speaking, it houses masterpieces by this great artist from the Levant. Within the collection, you can find several works, classified into different categories. It is one of the most beautiful and homely museums in Madrid, as well as one of the best-preserved houses in Europe.
The building was converted into a museum after the death of his widow. Designed by Enrique María Repullés, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1962. The main rooms are still furnished as they were during the artist's lifetime, including Sorolla's large, well-lit studio, where the walls are filled with his canvases. Other rooms are used as galleries to show Sorolla's paintings, while the rooms above are a gallery for special exhibitions.
Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
