R Street Food Tour
On this tour, participants can see murals and public art, learn about the history of the corridor and why the area is important to Sacramento, California, and the nation. Of course, tour guests will also get a taste of some of the best restaurants in America's Farm-to-Fork Capital. R Street's emergence as a vibrant and distinctive district rests in the area's unique history as the State's first railroad and industrial corridor. Many brick buildings, landmarks, and street elements still reflect the former rail-based business activity that existed for over a century and are now home to some of the best dining, cocktails, entertainment, art, and design that Sacramento has to offer. Though subject to change, typical tastings on this tour might include fresh poke tostada, locally roasted specialty coffee, chocolate and avocado mousse with cinnamon and sea salt, unique tacos, duck confit tots, and fresh Catanese Pizza. Note: Local Roots Food Tours limits the group size of each tour to no more than 14 individuals. Special dietary needs can be met with prior notice.
