Routeburn Guided Walk Full Day
Get picked up at 8:00am in Queenstown for a Routeburn Track hike filled with native birds, waterfalls, and rich local history.
You'll be picked up in Queenstown at 8:00am for a scenic drive along the Queenstown-Glenorchy Road, following the shores of Lake Wakatipu. From Glenorchy, you'll travel through Paradise and into Mt Aspiring National Park to begin your walk on the renowned Routeburn Track. After crossing a swing bridge, you'll enter a stunning beech forest where you can spot native birds like the rare Mohua, Bush Robin, and Rifleman.
As you follow the Routeburn River through a dramatic gorge, the path gently ascends through an ancient landscape filled with ferns, moss, and towering beech trees. Along the way, your guide will share stories of the track's cultural history and its use by Māori and European pioneers. You'll pass waterfalls, enjoy peaceful river views, and have plenty of spots to rest and take it all in. The trail is moderately paced, rising gradually towards stunning snow-capped peaks.
