Experience Kyoto’s breathtaking natural beauty on a combination tour featuring the Sagano Scenic Railway and the Hozugawa River Boat Ride. Travel aboard the romantic train from Saga to Kameoka, enjoying panoramic views of the Hozukyo Ravine during the approximately 25-minute journey. Then embark on a 16-kilometer river adventure from Kameoka to Arashiyama, navigating gentle rapids and serene pools surrounded by striking seasonal scenery. All transportation fees are included, and a multilingual audio guide in English, Chinese, and Korean is available onboard the bus.

The tour also includes approximately two hours of free time in Arashiyama, home to the iconic Bamboo Forest, the lively shopping street, and the picturesque Togetsukyo Bridge spanning the Katsura River. From scenic rail views to an immersive river journey, this experience blends relaxation and adventure in one seamless exploration of Kyoto’s western landscapes.

Know Before You Go

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before departure for prompt boarding.
Children up to 5 years old who are under 80cm tall do not require a seat and so can participate for free.
However, children over 80cm tall under 6 years old will be charged an additional fee for the Hozugawa boat ride, payable on-site before boarding
If the Hozugawa River Boat Ride is canceled due to flooding or other conditions, the tour content will be modified accordingly.
GPS-enabled multilingual audio guidance is available in English, Chinese, and Korean.
A Japanese-speaking guide will accompany the tour, and you will share the bus with Japanese tourists.
Your boarding ticket also serves as an entry pass for all activities. Please keep it safe until the tour ends, as lost tickets cannot be reissued.
Boarding tickets can be exchanged starting three days prior to your tour date.
Please make your own way to the bus terminal.
The bus departs on time. Late arrivals will not be permitted to join, and no refunds will be issued.
At each stop, the guide will display the return time. Please confirm it and return to the bus punctually. The bus will not wait for late returnees.
Photos are for reference only. In the event of natural disasters or mechanical issues, the bus company reserves the right to modify the itinerary.
In the event that the Hozugawa River descent is canceled due to bad weather, the tour will be conducted with an alternative route. A refund for the Hozugawa River descent will also be issued on-site.
