From San José: Poás Coffee Tour
Visit the largest coffee plantation in Costa Rica and learn everything about the process of producing coffee! Includes lunch.
Discover the step-by-step process of seed germination to the first crop of plants. Here you will observe the development process of the plant up to the point of recollection of the ripe grain. Once the tour is over, you will go to a Casa, where in addition to tasting the Tres Generaciones coffee and the famous chocolates with coffee, you will be able to buy liquors, local souvenirs, and art related to the experience.
You will also learn about the history of the estate, its owners, the production and varieties of plants, the geography of the area, and the traditional ways of cultivating grain.
The unique experience of visiting the oldest Wet Mill in Costa Rica (UNESCO 2014) as well as its machinery of more than 120 years, will allow you to learn each of the stages of the process (separation of qualities, peeling, fermentation tanks, and drying off the beans).
