Archaeological Tour
San Pedro de Atacama is considered the archaeological capital of Chile, with many sites of cultural and historical interest that show the origins of mankind in this place. Start this tour by visiting Tulor village, which corresponds to the first traces of the change from hunters and collectors to the sedentary lifestyle of shepherding and agricultural activity. This is thanks to the domestication of land and animals which brought important changes used in this era, generated by external cultural influences which emphasizes architecture and the manufacturing of utensils, tools, and self-defense systems. These changes are implicit in the construction of Quitor's Pukara and Katarpe's Tambo, two of the places that tour guests get to visit in this exciting excursion.
Be sure to carry mineral water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a windbreaker jacket, cap or hat, and appropriate shoes for natural ground walking.
