Whale Watching and Bacardi Island

This tour begins with an hour road trip where guests will get to watch the countryside along the coast and the mountain range, Anamuya, while heading to the fishermen's town of Cañitas.
Once arriving at the town, participants will sail across the beautiful Samaná bay in the most comfortable double-decker luxury catamaran. Once there, explore the island and the rich biodiversity of the area. Tour guests will get to observe in close proximity the amazing humpback whales of the area.
The whales are regular visitors in the Bay of Samaná. Every year from mid-January to mid-April these huge mammals leave the arctic to mate and give birth in the protected bay along the Dominican Republic's east coast.
After the whale watching, sail to Cayo Levantado, a beautiful island in the middle of the blue and turquoise water of Samaná Bay, and enjoy a lunch on the beach. Take some time off to relax and swim before the ride back to Cañitas.
Note: This tour is only offered during whales season which is from January to end of March.
