palm springs, ca

Palm Springs is a major tourist destination in the Coachella Valley. The city is next to the desert, and the weather is hot and dry for nearly the entire year. Palm Springs is iconic for the warm weather, glitzy scene, and outdoor recreation. Tourists come to relax, party, and play outside. The downtown area (AKA “the Village”) has recently been revitalized, and it is very pedestrian-friendly. Palm Springs attracts an older tourist crowd than many other destinations (old folks like the heat). The city has jokingly been called “Hollywood’s Waiting Room for Heaven”.

What an amazing tour. We saw whales, dolphins and porpoises. The crew was very friendly and enthusiastic. We could really tell they are very respectful towards the animals, we were able to see two humpbacks for nearly half an hour, everybody was silent, the engine was off and the crew was also in awe. Only when the whales left, the engine was back on and we also started moving again. We really felt like we had all the time in the world and we didn't disturb the animals.
