Play People-Watching-Bingo

Go to a busy public spot in town such as a mall, airport, pedestrian street, etc.  Grab a seat on a bench, pull out a pre-printed bingo card for each of you and start people watching.  For those of us who are competitive it turns into a hilariously awkward and totally innocent peeping competition, while us ADD folks will find ourselves distracted with the funny and sometimes absurd people walking by.  Either way, it’s a fun and cheap way to spend a couple of hours.  Simply Google “people watching bingo” for your bingo cards and get ready for a unique experience!

Go Eyebombing

Have you ever noticed the drunk octopus that wants to fight on wall hangers?  There are “faces” throughout normal life if you look close enough; and to really make them stand out try using googly eyes.  Chances are you don’t have a bunch of googly eyes so we’ll cheat a little on this “free” experience by dropping a whopping $2.99 on them so you can put a face on everything you want.

Craigslist Hunting

Browse the “free” section on Craigslist and commit to claiming something from someone on the listing.  It could be cinder blocks, house for sale by owner sign (oddly with a phone number still), or a Honda Civic HB passenger side window (?).  See what treasure (or trash) you find and do something useful with it as an art project or otherwise.

Take a Hike!

If you’re blessed enough to live in Colorado (Spur Experiences’s home) or in the Northwest as well as many other beautiful places around the world there is likely a great hiking trail within an hour or so.  Get out of the hustle and bustle and fill your lungs with some fresh air.  It’s good for your muscles, your lungs, and your soul.  Plus, science tells you that you should get outside for extended periods regularly; obey science!

Go Geocaching

Geocaching is like a culture of people marking spots around the world in a scavenger hunt style using latitude/longitude coordinates to give you hints on where to go next using the GPS on your smartphone, or the stars…but really, you should probably just use your phone.  With over 2 million geocaches worldwide you’re bound to be near one right now.  Be sure to bring a couple knickknacks to trade out with others previous people have left for you to find.

The Walmart Game

OK, this one is super silly and straight out of high school but it comes with laughs.  Have you ever decided at checkout that there is an item in your shopping cart you no longer want, and the cashier places it into a basket behind the register?  Later, an employee takes that basket and has to find the home for all of the unwanted products accumulated.  That’s the game; kinda.  The idea is that the two of you separate for 10 minutes, each with a cart.  Scour the store (Walmart, Target, whatever) and find five items that are just obscure enough to be hard to find its home again.  When you meet back up swap carts with each other and time one another taking the foreign products back to their homes.  Surprisingly fun and filled with laughter.  Additionally, you can add a betting component like loser gives the winner a massage.
