From lush rainforests, to pristine beaches, to a city life with European flair, Parana is quickly becoming a favorite destination with many travelers. Perhaps though, its main draw is Iguacu Falls. Visit the national park and experience the Waterfall Trails—a series of islands creating a staircase effect, which results in spectacular waterfalls all along the Iguacu River. At the end of it all is the Devil’s Throat Canyon which in and of itself is amazing to behold. The park offers boat trips and even white water rafting for the adventurous visitor.
In Curitiba, the capital of the state of Parana, you will find the Serra Verde Express. This exciting train ride runs the gamut as far as Brazilian landscapes--from the mountains down in the jungles to passing by an expanse of the Atlantic. The train ride even includes beer tastings!
One of the best beach resort areas in southern Brazil, Ilha do Mel is an island which travelers can get to by boat. Extremely popular among surfers, it is the perfect spot for anything water related. Paraná experiences winter from June to August. During this season, temperatures can vary depending on the region, but generally, they are mild with daytime highs ranging from the 60s to 70s Fahrenheit and cooler nights. Winter is an excellent time to explore the cultural attractions of the state's capital, Curitiba, such as the Oscar Niemeyer Museum and the historic district of Largo da Ordem.

The summer season in Paraná, from December to February, can be hot and humid, with daytime temperatures often reaching the 80s to 90s Fahrenheit. This is a popular time for beachgoers to visit destinations like Ilha do Mel and Guaratuba along the coast. The Iguaçu Falls also remain a highlight during this time, with the surrounding lush greenery enhancing the experience.
Fall in Paraná, from March to May, brings milder temperatures and beautiful autumn colors. It's a great time for outdoor activities like hiking in the Serra do Mar mountain range or visiting the Vila Velha State Park to witness unique sandstone formations.
