San Francisco is located in northern California and it is recognized as one of America’s great cities. San Fran is an eclectic blend of urban development, rich history, arts, and sports. The transportation system is one of the best in the country with the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transport), several area airports, and the historic trolley cars. The city has incredibly consistent weather. The average daily high temperature in August (68 degrees) is only 11 degrees warmer than January (57 degrees). This consistent weather makes San Francisco a year-round tourist destination.

THE SEASONS
  • Stop us if this gets repetitive. The weather doesn't change much throughout the year. The winter is the wet season and the slow season for tourism.

  • Spring is relatively dry compared to other California destinations. Spring can be a good time to visit the wine regions as the wineries often have bottle release events.

  • Summer is the dry season and it is also peak tourism season. Daily highs are in the upper 60s with very little rain. Summer is a good time to check out the landmarks and catch a Giants game.

  • Many experts suggest that fall is the best time to visit San Francisco. September is the warmest month of the year with daily highs hitting around 70s. Fall is also the harvest season for the wineries.
