Just 15-miles north of Venezuela is the island of Aruba; a constituent country of The Netherlands. Oftentimes when we think of the Caribbean, we imagine lush tropical forests and vegetation but Aruba is actually extremely arid, allowing for certain activities unique from many other Caribbean islands. An additional benefit from the arid environment is that you can plan a vacation there with confidence not one day of it will be ruined by rain.

Flaunted as having the most days of sunshine in the Caribbean and among the least rain Aruba is often considered a haven for Americans looking to escape dreary weather back home. On top of that, it’s too far south to experience hurricanes so it has virtually no threat of those natural disasters.
