Grand Rapids is known as the Michigan city with a big heart. Located along the Grand River, Grand Rapids’ culture and general lifestyle scene really does revolve around the water in many ways. From the bevy of activities that people can participate in to include fishing, kayaking, and swimming, to the Grand Rapids Water Festival which celebrates pretty much all things local to this Michigan community, Grand Rapids always has something going on. Perhaps best known is the Grand Rapids Art Museum, a place where you can easily pass an entire day. Near the Heritage Hill Historic District visitors can also check out a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

    Yes, Grand Rapids is known for its craft beer culture. In fact, it has been ranked as the #1 Craft Beverage Capital of the US. Some affectionately refer to it as Beer City. There are a number of brewery tours you can take. The Beer City Ale Trail is probably the most popular.

    Grand Rapids in and of itself has so much to offer visitors. To top it off, the city is also located in close proximity to other major cities. If you want to hop in a car and take a day trip, within two hours or less you can hit Chicago or Detroit.
