Owing its name to the Uinta National Forest in Northern Utah, Uinta Brewing brings a lot of character to the growing drinking population of Salt Lake City. From the West Coast-Style IPA, to the Grapefruit IPA, to the summery Mango Lime Pilsner Uinta puts well-balanced flavors into its brews. As is standard in Utah, draft beers cannot be higher than 4% ABV so while Red Rock offers drafts such as a hefe, an amber, and a honey wheat beer, you will be remiss if you order a draft IPA at that low ABV rather than just ordering a bottle of it which can legally be at a higher percentage. The brewery makes up for the restriction through their Drioma Imperial Stout (10.1%) and Elephino Double IPA (8%).
Wasatch was among the first of breweries in Utah and has thrived in its perfect location for out-of-towners looking to indulge after a day of skiing right on Main Street in Park City. If you’ve been to any bar with a decent craft beer selection you have seen Epic. Their beers reflect classic styles such as a wheat, IPA, porter, as well as a pale. However, if you delve into their Exponential Series you’ll start seeing some interesting combinations and a slew of Belgian-styled ales that will keep you salivating. The home brewery to Epic is in Salt Lake City but they also have a location in Denver with an aptly named RiNo brew, in honor of the River North (RiNo) neighborhood of Denver.
