Located in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood, Oola Distillery produces a variety of gins, vodkas, and whiskey. And by "variety", we mean everything from Chili Pepper Vodka to their Cask Strength Waitsburg Bourbon.
Very cool distillery in southwest Oregon, where they make all of their spirits from scratch and in authentic copper stills. Be sure to try out their Colonel Cobb Apple Pie (whiskey).
Whidbey Island has a couple of distilleries on our list. In 8th place, we have Cadee Distillery, which is owned by a Scotsman who brought his country's trade secrets to the Pacific northwest. Cadee produces award-winning whiskeys, vodkas, and gins.
Dry Fly Distilling puts eastern Washington on the map for great spirits. In 2007, Dry Fly opened as Washington's first distillery since prohibition. Their booze has received several awards, most impressively the 2011 Distillery of the Year awarded by the American Distilling Institute. Out of our top ten list, their on-site bar creates some of the best cocktails that you will find.
Woodinville Whiskey Co. obviously specializes in great whiskeys. The owners have received guidance from a former master distiller from Maker's Mark (how's that for street cred?). Woodinville's Straight Bourbon Whiskey was awarded 2016 craft whiskey of the year.
Whidbey Island Distillery's has a strong claim to fame... their Blackberry Liqueur was awarded the Platinum Medal (98 points) by the Beverage Tasting Institute. It is the single highest rating of any North American spirit of any kind. The distillery specializes in berry liqueurs from locally-sourced berries. The product line includes loganberry, raspberry, and boysenberry liqueurs.
Copperworks Distilling is located on Seattle's downtown waterfront. The distillery produces all of their products, which include single malt whiskey, gins, and vodka, inside traditional copper stills that were built in Scotland. The tour is great for the tasting, but also cool to see the massive copper stills.
Located on Vashon Island, Seattle Distilling Company is a small-batch craft distillery that produces an Old World style Vodka, an herbaceous Northwest Gin, a single-malt, Irish style Whiskey, and a rich, coffee-forward Coffee Liqueur.
Westland Distillery follows the creed to do one thing but do it really, really well. They make whiskey, and nothing else. They are one of the most visited distilleries in the state and they get almost exclusively 5-star reviews.
There is a lot to love about Bainbridge Organic Distillers. The distillery is the state's only who produces 100% of their organic spirits from scratch. The critics love the product. Bainbridge Organic's Yama Mizunara cask single grain whiskey, Battle Point organic wheat whiskey, Legacy organic vodka, and organic vanilla vodka have all taken home world championships.
