Both Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita represent much of the best of what Mexico has to offer. Surf, sand, amazing cuisine, and dancing well into the night. There are certainly some differences between these resort areas, so why not visit both and soak up the best of each. Sayulita is more of a quiet beach town; less touristy than Puerto Vallarta, it offers visitors a more walkable downtown with quaint shops, and then of course the beach which is all about both surfing and relaxation. Puerto Vallarta meanwhile (25 miles south of Sayulita) is definitely a bit more on the energetic side, especially when it comes to nightlife and the club scene. Not to be outdone though, this city has some of the most gorgeous beaches in the country, to include: Camarones Beach and Los Muertos Beach for those looking to engage in some serious water sport activities.
