Everett is located 25 miles north of Seattle and sits at the mouth of the Snohomish River. Everett is home to a major Boeing manufacturing plant, which is easily the largest employer in the city. Everett is also known for being a military town, as the Naval Station Everett is located in the city.
Everett has about 40 parks. Howarth Park is a beach spot with great views of the islands and plenty of area for play. For a relaxed setting, visit Legion Park, which also has stunning views, especially at sunset with the mountains and islands.
Being home to the largest marina on the left coast means easy access to playing on the water. Fishing, boating, and kayaking are all popular activities. From the shore, visitors love to bike and run on the miles of trails.
Some of the most popular experiences in Everett are museums. Imagine Children’s Museum is great for families with kids as it has interactive and hands-on teaching exhibits. Boeing has such a large impact that the city has two popular museums related to flight. One is the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum, and the other is the Museum of Flight Restoration Center. Boeing also offers a factory tour for those who geek out over aviation.
While the beer scene doesn’t touch the volume that you’ll find in Seattle (one of the country’s best for beer), Everett has a few nice options. Grab a beer at Lazy Boy Brewing or At Large Brewing (great IPAs). For wine lovers, consider visiting Port Gardner Bay Winery. The owners are very friendly, and they regularly host wine making classes.
Winters are cold and dreary. November to January is the rainy season and really a good time to go somewhere else.
Late spring is a good time to visit to catch the blooming of the flowers and mild temperatures.
Summer is prime time to visit. Temperatures are in the low 70s and it is the dry season. Everett is fantastic during the summer and there are plenty of options for playing outside.
Early fall looks like summer. September is dry with highs in the upper 60s. Late fall is not fun. November is the wettest season of the year with highs in the 40s.
